Obama may put Americans under power of International Criminal Court

World Net reported on November 19, 2009 that President Obama was sending a delegation to the Hague and as Secretary of State Clinton remarked that the US will end its “hostility” towards the Court.

As Senator Obama was quoted Yes[.] The United States should cooperate with ICC investigations in a way that reflects American sovereignty and promotes our national security interests.

So we really shouldn't be surprised he would think the international court could supersede our own constitution. That was the main reason President Bush rejected the ICC saying "it no longer considered itself bound to the jurisdiction of the ICC."

Here's a What If for you: we've been using drones in surgical strikes in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Unfortunately, there have been some civilian casualties. With the new powers recently granted Interpol by Obama (see previous post), they could come here, arrest the person operating the drone and haul him/her in front of the International Court.

Scary enough for ya?

I've heard this before, but in light of the Interpol story, it takes on a more hideous hue.

(I just posted this under another topic. Seems more appropriate here.)

So, looking at things today. Let us suppose I say just a few off color things about liberals. The ADL (Anti-Defamation League) goes to the Hague and files a charge that my remarks about liberals are hateful (my remarks??).

Interpol now gets the warrant from the Hague to bring me in. At 3:34 am they come crashing through my door, throw me into an ocean going container with their diplomatic immunity tag, compliments of Obama ExOrd 12425, and off I go, Ron Noble waving with a smile.

I just had to create a spot for all my boys to play!

Just love that Ray Stevens! Funny story for ya'll about him. My mom was pretty much a waitress for most of her life and she worked at the Original Pancake House in Nashville. Well all kinds of people would come in there, Porter Waggoner and Dolly Parton who she said looked better without all that makeup. And a scrawny little guy named Ray Stevens. But he was usually broke, so the ladies would slip him food out the back door. The very first time Ray had a hit, he came back to the restaurant, through the front door, with presents for all the people who had helped him out during his bad times.

Class act there.

Mom also witnessed Charlie Pride getting a coffee part dumped on his "panty bomber" parts. Never could keep his hands to hisself.

Here is an article from the UN Dispatch regarding the US joining as an observer at the court:

http://www.undispatch.com/us-join-icc-observer

Some of the countries that are not part of the ICC are US, Russia, China, and Israel. These other guys do not want to take part? Wow, I wonder why....

It appears that Rapp stated: "There remain concerns about the possibility that the United States, upon whom a great deal of the world relies for security, and its service members might be subject to politically-inspired prosecutions," from a Reuters article.

This appears to be a photo of Rapp:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/coalitionforicc/4166027617/

Here is another interesting statement from Rapp: "If the people who were worried [when the US was one of seven nations not to support the ICC] would pay attention to what the court is actually doing, they would be relieved," from:

http://www.csmonitor.com/World/Global-Issues/2009/1028/p12s01-wogi.html/%28page%29/2

I just cringe when liberals get into this stuff. We need not worry because ***RIGHT NOW*** this process is not doing anything that would be a problem for us. It is not the ***RIGHT NOW*** that bothers me. It is the ***NOW WE ARE STUCK*** and things change that bother me.

I really hate liberals, tremendously.

U.S. Government Recognizes the Value of the International Criminal Court

http://globalsolutions.org/blog/2009/12/us_government_recognizes_value_international_criminal_court

This looks more interesting. Noted in this article the precedence of using a UN resolution to force the ICC onto a nonsignatory. Imagine a resolution coming up and our rep to the UN just decides to abstain from the vote.

Now also noted another article that seems to suggest that ExOrd 12425 had more to do with granting immunity from taxes for any and all members of Interpol in the US.

http://www.thenewamerican.com/index.php/usnews/politics/2649-obama-executive-order-on-interpol-gives-fatcats-full-tax-exemption

Either way you look at it, this Chicago City gang boss is giving everything away to increase his gang of little thugs.

Joyce, Thank you for the kind compliments. Think of it as skills your tax payer dollars paid to develop! Now I am attempting to use them to form of "threat" assessment. It is a process.

First off, I am trying to develop a model for the threat that we are addressing. Who exactly is the threat, who is the intended target of the threat, what is the environment of the threat, who are the helpful players, who are the neutral players, and who are the nefarious players. The model can change or develop differently as we go along. But in trying to develop the model we need to gather data, without making final conclusions or drastic judgments. Of course, judgment is involved in determining the "validity" of the data, but we try to keep from broad brush stroking things.

This is why I like people like Ivan. He has many connections, lots of data. I may not come to the same conclusions that he does, but he does bring data to the table and I appreciate the research that he does.

In the mean time, I am also trying to collect data regarding threat assessment models out there. The FBI has a number that can be accessed straight off the internet. These might help.

Auntie Em said...

OTR great line of thinking, if I can help I'll be glad to. If we need a neutral place for data collection one of us might set up a separate blog.

Ivan, where are you!?

off the reservation said...

Joyce,

The more people work on this the better. It is a dynamic process. We used to use magnetic boards and butcher paper for sketching out everything until we could come up with the final written assessment. I have been trying to think about how something visual could be constructed that uses revision control.

By the way, been looking at Tshirt-doctor's site. In light of this topic he has an article on "A Secret Police in America?"

http://www.blog2.tshirt-doctor.com/?p=5539

(The URL may or may not work for a while since it appears he has to moderate my last comment there.)

Notice the link to the large data storage site that NSA is setting up in San Antonio:

Same in Utah:

Which led me to recall a certain RFQ put out by the White House a while back:

https://www.fbo.gov/download/328/3288f603ad531a1e60fcc79ffb8e5a77/RFQ_WHOS090003.pdf

Recently when I rescanned information on the internet about this White House endeavor to capture social sites I came across this article:

http://www.sodahead.com/united-states/the-government-is-monitoring-facebook-and-twitter/blog-214761/

Smile for the White House! It is for posterity!
