If you google Libertarian Woman I'm on the first page! What does this mean? I don't know, but it's kinda freaky to me.

Once again, the youth of America may be our only hope.
Have you watched Thursdays Freedom Watch? NO! What's wrong with you?
Here's a link to Part 4, at least watch that part.
Freedom Watch 06/24 Part 4
I have been amazed in the last few years at the number of young people getting involved in political opinion, analysis and starting their own (very successful) blogs. Certainly more successful than mine! But then I don't really advertise. So to my few but faithful followers, please watch and look out for Michael Shanklin.
These young whipper snappers really have it together! (gag)

Mousavi?
Think he's a good guy and we should be supporting him? Have we (and the Iranian protestors) forgotten he was the one who drafted (issued and still under enforcement by A. Khameini) the fatwa on Salman Rushdie?
HR2454 Cap and Tax
Yahoo News Blip
Excerpts and my comments:
"Democrats pointed to two reports — one from the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office and the other from the Environmental Protection Agency — that suggested average increases would be limited after tax credits and rebates were taken into account. The CBO estimated the bill would cost an average household $175 a year, the EPA $80 to $110 a year. But Republicans and industry groups say the real figure would much higher."
Tax credits and rebates???? Where do you think those are coming from? Those of us who PAY TAXES that's who.
"For some it was a very difficult vote because the entrenched agents of the status quo were out there full force, jamming the lines in their districts and here, and they withstood that," Pelosi said.
Withstood? Oh honey, you have yet to see what these people are going to have to withstand!
"It is paid for by the polluters who currently emit dangerous carbon emissions," the president said. "It provides assistance to businesses and families as they make the gradual transition to clean energy technologies."
Another case of Washington thinking we don't know that those "polluters" are the companies providing thousands of jobs and that this will result in layoffs in some cases and price increases to consumers in others. Some will do both.
THAT is how economics works! You don't run a company NOT to make a profit! Unless you're some fictional company from Atlas Shrugged!
This is all so sad. Yes, we need to work on alternative sources of energy. And despite the media reports that no one is doing that, IBM currently is making great strides in their 300 and 500 mile battery for electric cars. There are already more and more residents putting up solar panels on their homes. There are even several brands of roofing shingle systems that have built in solar capabilities.
All from the free market system.
We should be working in a systematic way to cheaper sustainable energy. But that takes time, meanwhile we are all paying more and more for gas in our cars, heating costs and transportation costs for foods and other goods. WHILE we are working on those sources of energy, we should release our reserves into our supply and start drilling here in the United States. Think of the jobs that would produce! And the reserves could be replaced with the AMERICAN oil. No more Middle East dependence.
Why is that so hard for liberals to accept? Because the politicians would no longer have as much control. We have allowed our government to get TOO big. Is it too big to fail? I hope not.

World Politics
I've had to listen to many people, some friends, talk about how ignorant Americans are when it comes to foreign politics and history. Even heard some Americans agree "Yes we are".
I've had to bite my tongue so much there are practically scars on my tongue.
I find it extremely arrogant, that anyone outside of our country, not used to our history and politics to even think we should study theirs. Especially those still in the grips of "The Commonwealth". Why, they are actually proud of that fact! And find me narrow minded.
When in actuality, I am again, biting my tongue.
Frankly, I have indeed studied their systems. And find them appalling. Especially appalling is their refusal to remember that we fought a war to extricate ourselves from that very same "system".
WHY THE HELL do they think I would be the least bit interested in understanding it. I understand it too well. And reject it.
We fought to remove ourselves from the monarchy/socialist leaning British tyranny over 200 years ago. Why would we now want to take on their health care. Their environmental laws. Their international treaties.
As Daniel Hannan, Conservative MEP for South East England, said: "What the hell is America thinking?".
Yes Daniel, what are we thinking?
I still love my foreign friends. But they are very hard on my oral health....

It's quite amazing to me how quiet Nancy Pelosi has been on this subject. How will she stop it? You KNOW she will try.
Call your rep, make sure he/she is on board with this. If not, vote them out! Yes, this is THAT important.

Funny - Post Turtle
Compliments of our buddy butt neckid (his choice, not mine). Have left in all the mis-spelling and all just cause that's what makes him special:
an old (75) texas rancher was talking to his doctor about many things when the subject of osamabama came up.
the rancher chuckled and the doc asked what was funny.the rancher said osamabama is like a post turtle and the doc being much younger and not from texas was confused.
what does that mean he asked.
the rancher pushed back his stetson and 'xplained.when you're driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top of it, that's a post turtle.
the doc look puzzled so the rancher continued.
you know he didn't get up there by himself, he doesn't belong up there, and he doesn't know what to do while he's up there and you wonder what kind of dumbass put him up there in the first place.
osamabama=post turtle.
this deserves to be passed around, do your duty.......

Iranian Protests?
I have surprised some people. I am not in favor of reacting strongly to the violence in the streets at this time. Frankly, there is very little difference between Ahmadinejad and Mousavi. Mousavi is largely responsible for the Iranian nuclear program. He was chosen by the Council to run as was Ahmadinejad.
So what is the difference?
We've had pretty much the same problem here with our elections and no one is screaming bloody murder. Maybe we should! But we won't.
How much more will WE take before we stand up for our rights and DEMAND to be heard.
Meanwhile, I hope the Iranian officials have a good time at the Barbeque July 4th.

Tax the rich
If you taxed all of America's net worth (every one, not just the rich) 100% it still would not be enough to cover just Social Security, much less the National Debt, proposed health care, etc.

Today?
The allegoric lesson of Twentieth Century Motors is much more instructive for the country as a whole, however, than for another automaker, because it is about how "hope" and "change" can motivate people to make choices that lead inevitably to "despair" and 'stagnation."
A former worker at the plant, now a lonely tramp, tells the story years later of how the workers let themselves be inspired by the company's new owners to work for the common good. "They told us that this plan would achieve a noble ideal."
Yes, a noble ideal, a way to help each other, something no one could possibly oppose. But there were few details on the table when the company's workers were asked to vote on their future, just these vague promises and a few catchphrases on which to pin their hopes."
None of us knew just how the plan would work, but every one of us thought that the next fellow knew it. And if anybody had doubts, he ... kept his mouth shut -- because they made it sound like anyone who'd oppose the plan was a child-killer at heart and less than a human being."
And so the workers voted overwhelmingly to follow the new plan, which would mean that no worker would fall through the cracks -- everyone would take care of everyone else. "We thought it was good," the tramp says wearily. "No, that's not true, either. We thought that we were supposed to think it was good."

Is this today? No, this is Atlas Shrugged. Read it. Written 1956.

Congress wants criticism of Sotomayor to stop!!!
I found this link on the Congressional website. Is this appropriate? Are they condoning LaRaza? I think this is totally inappropriate.

Nobody's attacking her for being Latino, this is inciting to try to make people think so.
She is arrogant and bigoted. THAT is the issue. Based on her own comments (multiple times, not once) and her record on ruling in favor of minorities and against white collar criminals. Her record of letting her race decide cases instead of what is right and what is wrong.

Islam convert kills two Soldiers
What? Hadn't heard about this? That is because the main stream media is too busy going NUTS over the wacko that shot George Tiller (who is also a wacko but that's another story). It's more politically correct to bemoan the loss of a late term abortionist than two of our own soldiers killed by another nut job, this who happens to be MUSLIM!!!
Our priorities are sick people.

Liberty & Tyranny - quote
Quote from Abraham Lincoln:
"We all declare for liberty; but in using the same word we do not all mean the same thing. With some the word liberty may mean for each man to do as he pleases with himself, and the product of his labor; while with others, the same word many mean for some men to do as they please with other men, and the product of other men's labor. Here are two, not only different, but incompatible things, called by the same name - liberty. And it follows that each of the things is, by the respective parties, called by two different and incompatible names - liberty and tyranny." -- April 18, 1864 - Address at Sanitary Fair, Baltimore, Maryland
The above quote used as the title for a book from Mark Levin which I have bought and am now reading! But I must admit, I copied the quote from someone on a forum discussing this book. Just thought the quote was so marvelous for NOW that I couldn't wait to post it.
