So much for humanitarian fig leaf

The "humanitarian protesters" tried to kidnap three of the Israeli soldiers. Further evidence of weaponry was found:

... After the incident, 9mm bullet casings were found - a kind not used by the naval commandos. The Israel Defense Forces says that during the operation a number of pistols and an M-4 rifle were taken from soldiers, but they believe that the Turkish activists had other weapons. The captain of the ship told the naval commando chief that the guns were thrown overboard before the ship was completely taken over.

There are at least a few honest journalists that challenge the protesters on their version of what happened:

Now don't get me wrong. The handing over of Israel by the British many decades ago was probably not in the best interests of the region. But it is done. It can't be undone unless you support another holocaust. So there has to be some way to come to an agreement. But as long as the Palestinians allow Hamas to represent them, there will likely be violence.

Only if people keep believing the extremists that keep pushing for a confrontation. The Gazans are being used.

By the PSC, IHH and many other organizations intent on disruption and destruction. Even those groups are tools of communism, socialism, progressivism, etc. And if they win, they wouldn't respect the Gazans anymore than the Israelis. Less.

It's like the American Natives who were disrupted by white Europeans. To do the 100% right thing, we should return the land and leave. Is that likely? No.

The Gazans are the losers just like the Native Americans. But they can retain more of their own control if they kick out the extremists and agree to a settlement. There is no other possibility that won't result in massive loss of life. On a global scale.

If I thought it could be contained to just those two groups fighting it out, then let them have at it! But you and I know, every nation on the face of the planet would step in on one side or the other. It's a long ways from 1776 with Brits fighting American along with a handful of French. Those kinds of wars are long gone and not likely to ever be repeated.
