The beauty of the Constitution was that the average free man could read it and understand it. It was not written in legal-ease.

Our scum-sucking reps in Congress have created a morass based on lobbying efforts and support for the lawyering profession.

Ever here that saying "ignorance of the law excuses no one?" The practical application is that someone who commits a murder or steals something, truly cannot just say "I had no idea that wrong." Today, everything has changed.

The act of going to the beach may lead to the commission of a felony. While walking along the beach with one's child, that child may decide to pick up a shell and place it in a pocket. An idle park ranger might take note of this and upon the parent/child returning to their car to return home, be challenged by the ranger. The ranger confiscates the shell and notes a queen conch shell having an off-center hole larger than 1/16 inch in diameter through its spire. Though the vast majority of shells are collectable as long as they are empty, there are one or two very specific cases that are illegal. Now you go to jail for not knowing an obscure recognition technique.

Or take the case of anyone owning a Gibson guitar and ex post facto. Even though it was legal to purchase one without the proper documentation 20 years ago, owning one today may place one in jeopardy of violating that USeless Govt elastic clause around the moon called the Lacey Act.

Our government has become one of the most despotic on Earth in terms of the laws it has created. If it decided to actually enforce them to the extent that they can, the entire population would become prisoner and constant subjugation to unlawful searches as if going through the air port. I would argue that the only thing keeping the government in check is that fact that the majority of the country is armed.

Kick the bums out??? Sure. Only they get replaced by the same characters. It never troubles the wolf how many the sheep be. Right now, there are plenty of wolves out here to challenge the big wolf. Our government has the framework in place to "legally" take everything we have. We need to convince them that doing so would wake a very large den of wolves. Unfortunately, they are too stupid to see that and our numbers are becoming more apathetic to care.
