The Death of Objective Journalism

“For what it’s worth, I do think that those of us on the left have made a decision not to cover this trial because we worry that it’ll compromise abortion rights. Whether you agree with abortion or not, I do think there’s a direct connection between the media’s failure to cover this and our own political commitments on the left. I think it’s a bad idea, I think it’s dangerous, but I think that’s the way it is.”

If you expect to continue being protected by the First Amendment you have to do your job.  And that is to report ALL news whether you agree with it or not.

This is nothing more than pushing an agenda, hiding facts that go against your agenda.

What else have you NOT reported?

VERY TRUE. It's ALL supposed to be unbiased, right? Well then be unbiased, you assholes! Hmmph.

Nothing like getting an inadvertent confession out of these assholes that they DO IN FACT inject bias into mainstream discussion and thought processes.

Juuuuuuuurrrrrrrnalism - right Ma? First Amendment and all that.

Hey Ma! I do believe I feel another smirk about to distort my countenance ..........

SD don't crack that face!!!

Hey Martha, welcome to the pit.

Journalists do as they were taught. There really is no intention to mislead or deceive. Unless of course you are libertarian or conservative, then you need to readjust your "bias meter" until it reads 0 when applied to stories such as this.

Auntie Em said...

Oh no they definitely mean to mislead by omission!

Nostradumbass said...

Journalists are taught to omit that which is not "germaine". What constitutes that term is what ever the instructor decides.... The "Most Trusted Man In America" liked omitting as much as he liked reporting.

Booger King!

Good to hear from you, my friend.

Ya, Boston: Everyone stay inside your homes, cower under your beds, while we send armies of MRAPs and paramilitary troops to track down this dog and kill him in his tracks.

If Texas: Post picture of bombing suspect, all deputies return to the station, wait for call about a dead body.

Did it take all of you more than five minutes to come up with that "joke?" People die and all you can do is laugh about it. You're all very sick.

You want really objective journalism?

You want to read the facts?

This is all you need, www.motherjones.com

Didn't see a joke anywhere MJ. It is pathetic the "coverage" given us by the media.

But I do have to laugh about your reference to MJ for "objective journalism" and "facts"!!!

Not one mention on your page about the Gosnell trial. A really stupid article on why gun control lost. Whining about how the GOP is looking for emails while the left and right both managed to pass CISPA so you both will be looking at emails.

Objective? Hardly.

Funny how you people cry "the people want gun control" (which is not true) as the basis for trying to pass gun control but when it comes to immigration reform you don't try to go with what the people want, which the polls all show that people do not want immigration reform.

Hmmmmm can't have it both ways.
