Clinton reversing stand on Small Arms Ban Treaty

Many, including me, have been warning of this possibly coming through soon. Looks like while we were all involved in the big oil spill, our Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was busy seeing how she and Obama could pull a fast one on our Second Amendment rights.

Previous posts here on subject.

This is not a done deal but is getting too close for comfort.

Original article from Reuters. I picked up this morning from Armand Hale. He had an interesting quote from Paul Broun.

The UN's Small Arms Treaty is designed to register, ban and commandeer firearms owned by private citizens like you. The Obama Administration would be working hand in glove pass a new, "Small Arms Treaty." The National Association for Gun Rights wants you to understand just how dangerous this global gun ban is. It will enact tougher licensing requirements, confiscate and destroy all "unauthorized" civilian firearms (all firearms owned by the government are excluded). Ban the trade, sale and private ownership of all semi-automatic weapons. Create a international gun registry. Source: Dr. Paul Broun, M.D. U.S. Congressman (R-GA)

Clinton is demanding that each nation have veto which the UN is fighting.

Scott Brown to be first...

... to feel the sting of "we warned you".

Tea Party got you in, Tea Party will put you out on your very next election. How does it feel to be one of a few single term senators?

This will send a signal to others who think they can change up after election.

sad though

Eminent Domain and Borders

Another case of Federal Government gone mad. We have a flood across our southern border and they want to bully a family farm into selling their property dirt cheap so a multimillion dollar facility can be built at a crossing of maybe 3 vehicles an hour.

Quote for the day

“The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can
shield the people from the political, economic and/or military
consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for
the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the
truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension,
the truth becomes the greatest enemy of the State.”

Goodbye Isakson, Hello Donovan!

I am very excited about this race. A great Libertarian candidate for U.S. Senate, running against Johnny Isakson. An extremely good chance of beating Isakson as most of us Georgians of any party are tired of the back room negotiations and posturing by this so-called Blue Dog Democrat Isakson.

and follow him on Facebook.

Campaign motto is simple and straight to the point, "The mission is freedom. The vision is now."

Be sure and check out his website even if not from Georgia as he discusses issues that affect all states.

10 steps to fascism in America

Ran across this by accident. The writer is talking about George Bush but if you look at the ten steps I swear she is even more talking about Obama! Bush may have started it with the Patriot Act but the Big O is carrying it over the cliff:

1. Invoke a terrifying internal and external enemy -

Internal has to be all those crazy right wing extremists! External, could be loosely applied to supposed man made global warming

2. Create a gulag -

Hmmm, wonder if after they move MSM and company from Gitmo to that new prison in Illinois if they'll put anyone else there?

3. Develop a thug caste

Oh this has to be ACORN and SEIU.

4. Set up an internal surveillance system

Drones over NY? Scan the internet? Or worse CONTROL the internet?

5. Harass citizens' groups

Yep, gotta be the Tea Party.

6. Engage in arbitrary detention and release

Holdren and other Czars of Obama would love to find an excuse to round up some of the right wing, infact wasn't there a memo about them and others being probable internal threats to America?

7. Target key individuals

Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck?

8. Control the press

Well they already control NBC/MSNBC. Pretty soon the Feds will buy up newspapers that are "too big to fail".

9. Dissent equals treason

DUH, do I even need to say anything?

10. Suspend the rule of law

They believe more in the "rule of man" and look for excuses to invoke more restrictions.

Free Press and Net Neutrality

The progressives are not anything if not creative in their nomenclature. What could be more peaceful and reassuring than a free press right?

In this day of focus groups, closing one door only to open another under another guise, we find Free Press, a media advocacy group has won the prize for deflecting negative attention by using a name that just gives you the warm fuzzies.

They are also at the center of the net neutrality efforts.

Our Purpose

Media play a huge role in our lives. TV, radio, the Internet, movies, books and newspapers inform and influence our ideas, opinions, values and beliefs. They shape our understanding of the world and give us the information we need to hold our leaders accountable. But our media system is failing.

This failure isn't natural. For far too long, corrupt media policy has been made behind closed doors in the public's name but without our informed consent. If we want better media, we need better media policies. If we want better policies, we must engage more people in policy debates and demand better media.

Basically they would have more government involvement, reduce the availability of news source to a "local" level and remove capitalist competition including rights to intellectual property. That's music, movies, books etc., to the likes of you and me.

People say what's wrong with that? Even Rick Carnes of the Huffington Post has a problem with that:

"The bottom line is that Free Press is pretty explicit in their desire to wipe out every significant media business - news, movies, music, cable and telecommunications - and replace them with some sort of government facsimile, all to further McChesney's abstract revolutionary vision. They say they are for a free press and independent media, but how free and independent can media be when the government is paying the bills. As a longtime advocate of freedom of speech and expression in creative works, I worry greatly about the government becoming too involved in the information, media and creative industries. Don't you?"

Too much ado about nothing? Maybe. But I like to know the players and Robert McChesney, co-founder of Free Press is quite the character:

"There is no real answer, but to remove, brick by brick, the capitalist system itself, rebuilding the entire society on socialist principles."

That is his plan. In an interview he gives a little insite into how this has been an ongoing plan with the left: “What should we do about the problem of the media?” There was a traditional Left response available at the time: “we understand that the media is not separate from, but an integral part of how capitalist power is upheld in society; when we make the revolution or the revolution just happens, the problem of the media will be resolved then.”

Not if but when the revolution happens.

Farrakhan - Obama selected

"Our role was to put him into orbit,” Farrakhan said in Saturday’s interview. “And we come back to earth knowing that in four years, in eight years, he’s coming back, too."

When is someone gonna put this guy in a looney bin?

Dawg to Latinos: Protest Crime & Cartels...

I like this woman!

"...the violence has increased over the last several years on both sides of the borders, WE as LATINOS, have NOT stood together to PROTEST and FIGHT against the DRUG CARTEL. The violence that the Mexican Drug Cartels are perpetrating upon our LATINO people, and the USA, where so many undocumented immigrants have come to call America “Home,” where MANY also flee to avoid the violence, I never see any stand up against those who are behind this wave of violence AGAINST AMERICA! SHAME ON YOU! "

Little Johnny Joke

Ya'll like Little Johnny?

Lil Johnny Meets Barack

Barack Obama was visiting a primary school and he stopped by one of the classes. They were in the middle of a discussion related to words and their meanings.

The teacher asked the president if he would like to lead the discussion on the word 'tragedy', so our illustrious president asked the class for an example of a 'tragedy'.

One little boy stood up and offered: "If my best friend, who lives on a farm, is playing in the field and a tractor runs over him and kills him, that would be a tragedy."

"No,' said Obama, 'that would be an accident."

A little girl raised her hand: "If a school bus carrying 50 children drove over a cliff, killing everyone inside, that would be a tragedy."

"I'm afraid not,' explained Obama. 'That's what we would call great loss."

The room went silent. No other children volunteered. Obama searched the room. "Isn't there someone here who can give me an example of a tragedy?"

Finally, at the back of the room, Little Johnny raised his hand. In a quiet voice he said: "If the plane carrying you and Mrs. Obama was struck by a 'friendly fire' missile and blown to smithereens, that would be a tragedy."

"Fantastic!' exclaimed Obama. 'That's right. And can you tell me why that would be tragedy?"

"Well,' says Johnny, 'It has to be a tragedy, because it sure as hell wouldn't be a great loss, and you can bet your ass it's probably not an accident either."

A Libertarian Defense of the Arizona Bill

Most libertarians are coming out against the Arizona bill. I have been saying we have to observe the rule of law and it is illegal for immigrants to come here without going through a proper procedure. We have the right to know that new people are not running from the law, carrying drugs, or on some terrorist watch list. We welcome those who want to do things the right way.

I am not the only one.

Part of the Summation from Hyscience:

... the central fact that rule of law is necessary in creating a free society. If we didn't appreciate the role of law and order in protecting civil liberties, we'd be anarchists. A free society can not exist in a world where the law of the land is routinely flaunted and the responsible government authority merely shrugs. A free society depends on a limited government that proactively fulfills the few responsibilities it does have, and the Arizona bill is nothing short of the people of Arizona twisting the arm of the federal government to get it to live up to its responsibilities.

We can and will find a compromise to this issue. But our soverienty must be protected in the process.

Watch for Lithium

Didn't I say watch this one? On Feb 23, 2010 I posted this:

Today I pulled this from an email I get from TownHall for today:

The Motley Fool confirms the boom. “Lithium-ion technology looks like the anointed successor to the battery.”

TIME Magazine is stunned by Lithium’s results, saying “This Malibu is electric, powered by a 400- pound lithium-ion is silent and entirely emissions free.”

CNN/MONEY confirms that the GM Volt car which uses Lithium batteries “is projected to get an estimated 230 miles per gallon.”

The BBC News says Lithium “could help power the vehicles of the future.”

SONY announces $370 million dollar Lithium push to DOUBLE production

Greece: "We are images from the future"

There is a book by that title coming out soon about the financial meltdown in Greece and the spreading effects.

As this Times article relates, the parents and earlier generations are being blamed. Will our children and grandchildren react this way after we allow our government to destroy and "transform" America? Could be. Something to think about.

"The question of who was to blame and who should pay for the greatest crisis to afflict the single currency was a subject of heated debate, particularly after a leading credit rating agency put the cradle of civilisation in the same category as Azerbaijan by reducing its (Greece) government bonds to “junk” status. "

Hasn't Moody's talked about America's rating being reduced? There is a "rescue" package being discussed for Greece but only if they are willing to make concessions in their entitlement programs among other stated conditions for the bailout. Citizens are not all willing to do that. Would Americans be willing to having to make across the board concessions?

Would U.S. government employees be willing to take a cut? Would social security recipients be willing to take a cut? When was the last time any of you got a raise? Why is it only the average worker that is currently making concessions?

In Greece public sector workers can retire as early as 45 with paid benefits and retirement pay. Many Greek workers are paid 14 months salary.

How long did they think the system could support this kind of overly generous compensation?

And of course they are the epitome of what is beginning here, overly restrictive regulations on business.

We need to watch this carefully, this is our current path. We do not need to "look at what the rest of the industrialized nations are doing". They are sinking. We have always been different, in my opinion better. We should be leading the way, not following the leader. Shall we sink with them?
