Irrelevancy of Congress and the Supreme Court

The President doesn't like Congress failing to pass his Cap & Trade bill (or something similar) so he just gives the power to the EPA instead.

He doesn't like the supreme court's ruling on campaign finance so says he'll take care of it himself.

Feigns disapproval of Congress insisting on spending cuts before passing a Continuing Resolution but when we look closer to the details, what did he really cut? Nothing!

Debt ceiling has come and gone and yet he's still spending, just getting his cash from the Federal Reserve.

It's been over 60 days since he gained approval from the UN instead of Congress to begin military actions in Libya. According to the War Powers Act, he should be asking Congress for permission and funds to continue. Says he does not need Congressional approval. Or course this has been a move by previous presidents, so what kind of a precedent is Congress continuing here?

When is Boehner and the rest going to stand up, find their balls and say ENOUGH????

Or will they wait till the next election kicks yet another major portion of the establishment politicians out of office?

Gary Johnson has announced he is running for president! Don't think who is the best candidate (i.e., can they beat Obama), think: who is the best person for America.

And that is either Ron Paul or Gary Johnson. Maybe both on a ticket!

Who are the Libyan Rebels?

As I've said, new is not necessarily better. Yes Mubarak and Gaddafi were bad evil men. But are the people of Egypt and Libya any better off with their replacements? Israel is wondering the same thing.

In the case of the Libyan rebels here's a shocker: some are al Qaeda!!! Gee, and I thought there were only a handful of AQ left! Or so the left and Doc would have us believe. Although, I do have to ask, since when did AQ keep a membership roster so we'd know how many there were?????

Abdel-Hakim al-Hasidi, the Libyan rebel leader, has said jihadists who fought against allied troops in Iraq are on the front lines of the battle against Muammar Gaddafi's regime.

Yeahhhh right.

And since when do we have money to help ANYONE these days? We should not have gone in there, we didn't for Iran, Rwanda, Darfur, Egypt, so why for Libya? Oil ya say. Even though Libya only supplies about 2% of the worlds oil and almost nothing directly to the US, many critics will claim this is yet again a war for oil.

Tunisia? That's only 260,000 barrels A YEAR!!! That's nothing.

So, again, why Libya? Maybe there really is something to this United Nations "Responsibility To Protect" Doctrine. I may have more on that later.

This contrasted with prevailing Unionist ideas, articulated by Abraham Lincoln, which held that first there had been an American people and a Union, and then this Union had sanctioned the political subdivisions that were the states.

Sounds like they thought more like Jefferson Davis! Most people think southerners of the time (and now) were stupid uneducated buffoons. And they think the Civil war was all about race. Little do they know that Lincoln said if he could have held the union together by keeping slavery, he would have done so.

Failure of the United States Senate

United States Senate has invalidated it's own mission and ignored it's own history. Originally chosen by the individual states legislatures, they were sent to Washington as a representative of their state. Now, we have direct vote and the senators now listen more to the lobbyists and special interest groups.

They have become nothing more than an extension of the House, going along with whatever party is in control in the Senate and ignoring the needs and limitations of their state. Forget whether their state can handle the mandates established by Washington. States are no longer represented.

This was designed to keep Congress from passing too many bills and constantly "transforming" our republic. Legislation was never intended to be easy. It was MEANT to be a hard job to get bills, regulations through. That way, only those issues that truly represented the overwhelming good of the republic would pass. And that does not mean 51%!!!

Harry Reid, you have NO RIGHT to block any vote.
