Looks to me like there is a wind generator in there. That would make it a very green design.
On a slightly serious note (butt my tongue is still planted somewhere in my cheek) shipping containers make awesome "home" ideas. Collected a few of these, use one for my "bidness orifice," use a few for equipment storage. I use the 54-foot long containers and the tie down points are 40 feet apart. Makes it easy to just pour four small pads to level the container. 30-tons of capacity over a 40-foot span is very impressive.
People stack these things and make homes from them. I can get them for about $3,500 each. Here is a site with some examples using shipping containers:
