HR 45 Blair Holt Firearm Licensing

Welcome visitors from opencongress.org please leave a comment, obviously this is drawing a lot of visitors, I would be glad to discuss further.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is still in committee and likely will stay there, but wouldn't hurt if everyone dropped a line to their Representative letting them know we are still aware of it and are watching.

The government maintains many lists. Every time a firearm on the BATFE list is purchased, a NICS background check is done. An ATF-4473 form is filled out with personal information of the applicant for the Federal Fire Arms Licensed (FFL) dealer. Then the form information is called in for an NICS background check. If the person is on the list, the purchase is denied. Otherwise, the purchase is allowed and the record of the purchase is maintained by the gun dealer.

Rather odd, Janet Incompetano maintains a list of about 165,000 no-fly names. This latest airline bomber, "panty-waste", Muslim terrorist was not on it. Lists upon lists upon lists upon lists and what does it get us except more Government intrusion in to private citizen's lives and less security for anyone.

Good point OTR, it's that list upon list that can obfuscate the issue (a word for BN).

After 9/11 weren't we supposed to be working toward cooperation between all the different agencies? There is no excuse for this person to NOT be on a no-fly list.

Appears they added more names to the no fly list. I stand corrected on the number on the list. Appears to be over 550,000 names on that list.

I believe that the number of soldiers in the US Army is at 530,000. I believe that we are up against 550,000 criminals conspiring to do anything to destroy us. But this is not a war??????

So, back to a serious note. The last four words I find very concerning:

"and for other purposes."

As I look into this further, it appears that a failure to receive such license makes it mandatory for the individual to turn in all of their handguns (personal property) or face jail time.

What may also help send the message home a little better, Bobby Rush is a co-founder of the Illinois Black Panther Party in Chicago after going AWOL from the Army in 1968. In 1969 he served 6 months incarceration for an illegal weapons charge.

He is currently a member of the Progressive Caucus endorsed by the Democratic Socialists of America. Within his district we can find the national headquarters for the Nation of Islam.

This convicted criminal is part of a concerted effort to make innocent civilians of this country into criminals for abiding by the 2nd Amendment of the US Constitution. He is a former member of an organization that works through intimidation and force.

The US Attorney General under this bill would be the authority to determine who may or may not own a handgun. The US Attorney General may make any requirements he deems necessary including any and all personal information he believes necessary. There is nothing in this bill that allows for any sort of appeal process.

Continuing with the Liberal Assault on Liberty

S 1317 - Denying Firearms and Explosives to Dangerous Terrorists Act of 2009

A bill to increase public safety by permitting the Attorney General to deny the transfer of firearms or the issuance of firearms and explosives licenses to known or suspected dangerous terrorists.
-----------------------------------

Another assault on our rights. The problem with this bill is that it gives all power to the US Attorney General to deny a person their 2nd Amendment right based on the various lists used by the FBI, CIA, DHS and need only state "National Security" to deny any appeal through the process.

The Liberal Fascists in Washington DC want one thing. To seize every right or liberty that we have and hold us without any mechanism to defend ourselves.

Liberalism in Power

S.843 - Gun Show Background Check Act of 2009

A bill to establish background check procedures for gun shows.
------------------------------------

Copy of the bill in all of its worldly glory may be found here:

http://www.fpaulvalone.com/Senate_Bill_843.html

The presumptive basis of this bill is that anyone who sells or buys a firearm is a criminal engaged in interstate transport of dangerous weapons for criminals. It is stated as a FINDING!

In fact, this bill goes beyond gun shows. And once again, the US Attorney General is given broad powers to bless or deny any and all transactions. Any and all decisions may be appealed at the discretion of his office.

Anyone that may wish to sell a firearm becomes a gun dealer and is required to register with AG Holder as a "vendor".

Now consider the following:

“…the Attorney General may enter during business hours the place of business of any gun show promoter and any place where a gun show is held for the purposes of examining the records required by sections 923 and 932 and the inventory of licensees conducting business at the gun show. Such entry and examination shall be conducted for the purposes of determining compliance with this chapter by gun show promoters and licensees conducting business at the gun show and shall not require a showing of reasonable cause or a warrant.”

That means that an individual who sells a firearm from their home may receive a visit from BATFE and you MUST let them in! No warrants required.

These laws go beyond just the 2nd Amendment but also require the firearm owner to give up their rights under the 4th Amendment as well as the 5th Amendment.

Butt, I have been VERY busy lately. Bunch of folks wanting to go out and get some heavy duty training with handguns. They pay me well to go out to my west Texas property and since it is too cold to sit around butt nekkid on the porch, I have to do something. I cannot stand being idle.
